The Series
Wagon Train was a Western series which took place on board a wagon train running from St. Joseph, Missouri to California once a year. This format gave the series the freedom to focus on a variety of characters. It starred Ward Bond (Mayor Seth Adams), Robert Horton (Flint McCullough) and John McIntire (Chris Hale, who followed up Adams). The series had 90-minute episodes during its first season, then changed format to hour-long episodes. It ran from 1957 to 1965. Note: Originally Star Trek was pitched as "Wagon Train to the Stars".
